U-BOLTS - TRUCK & TRAILER GUIDELINE SHEET
All our u-bolts are custom made from top quality steel.
Due to the fact that these u-bolts are custom made in our shop, we do not accept any returns on made to order u-bolts. Please double check your measurements.
Note* Rod diameter is measured at the threads. Please be sure to specify your measurements to ensure proper fit.
The four steps in deciding which u-bolts are needed are:
- Bend Type
- Rod Diameter
- Inside Width
- Inside Leg Length
Bend Type Options:
- Round
- Square
- Semi-Round
- Square Top Round Corner
- Ford Semi-Round
- IH Semi-Round
Rod Diameter Options: 3/8" - 7/16" - 1/2" - 9/16" - 5/8" - 3/4" - 7/8" - 1" - 1 1/8" - 1 1/4"
Inside Width Options: 1 3/4" - 2" - 2 1/4" - 2 1/2" - 2 3/4" - 3" - 3 1/4" - 3 1/2" - 4" - 5" - 6"
Inside Leg Length Options: 3" - 4" - 5" - 6" - 7" - 8" - 9" - 10" - 11" - 12" - 13" - 14" - 15" - 16" - 17" - 18" - 19" - 20" - 21" - 22" - 23"
SUGGESTED TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS BASED ON U-BOLT SIZE, REFER TO VEHICLE MANUFACTURE'S TORQUE SPECIFICATION FOR EXACT TORQUE.
Recommended U-Bolt Torque Specifications:
1/2" = 90 FT/LBS
9/16" = 130 FT/LBS
5/8" = 180 FT/LBS
3/4" = 315 FT/LBS
7/8" - 500 FT/LBS
1" = 750 FT/LBS
1 1/8" = 950 FT/LBS
1 1/4" = 1315 FT/LBS
ALL U-BOLTS MUST BE RE-TORQUED AFTER 100-200 MILES AFTER BEING INSTALLED. THIS SHOULD BE DONE UNDER A LOAD.
